Tim Berners-Lee Biography
Tim Berners-Lee was a consultant software engineer at Cern, the European Particle Physical Laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland. There he craved to share his on going research with peers. He developed and introduced a global hypertext project now known as the worldwide web in 1989. This platform allowed people world wide to people to work together by combining their knowledge in a web of hypertext documents. By 1991 the WorldWide Web was available on the internet.
In 1994 he founded and still runs the World Wide Web Consortium, which sets standards and protocol for all web code development. The Consortium operates at MIT(Massachusetts Institute of Technology).
Today he continues to coordinate efforts to benefit humanity through the web. Here is a video of him at a recent MIT conference discussing how people can use the computer as intelligence.
